Common Plastic Bottle Materials

Material: PET, PE, PP, ABS, AS, Acrylic

PET: Environmentally friendly materials, which can directly contact the material body. Advantages: high barrier properties, light weight, non-breaking, high transparency, and soft material. Disadvantages: not resistant to high temperature, easy to change above 40 degrees;

PE: Environmentally friendly materials, which can be directly in contact with the material body. One-time molding, direct injection of the finished product, the surface is matte, not as bright as PET, the caliber is relatively rough, can not be transparent, the surface treatment of PE material is not suitable for spraying, cannot be colored, and is easy to fall off. Special overheating treatment is required during silk screen printing.

PP: Environmental protection material, which can be directly contact with the material body. The advantage is low density, strength, rigidity, hardness and heat resistance are better than PET. It can be used at about 100 degrees, but it becomes brittle at low temperature and is not wear-resistant, so it is generally used as the first choice for cosmetics lids.

PETG: Full name is Poly (ethylene terephthalateco-1, 4-cylclohexylenedimethylene terephthalate)

1. High transparency, high gloss, good scratch resistance.

2. Very high toughness, impact resistance, bending.

3. Excellent chemical resistance.

4 Good processability, can be processed by injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, good fluidity and excellent coloring.

ABS: Thermoplastic polymer material with good strength, good toughness and easy processing and forming. It has high strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, so it is often used in the outer shell of the product. The processed product has a smooth surface and is easy to dye and electroplate. Some covers that need to be electroplated generally use this material. This material is also commonly used in some double-layer skin care and beauty bottles.

AS: AS has better transparency than ABS and better toughness.

Acrylic: It has poor chemical resistance. Generally, it cannot be directly filled with material. It needs to be equipped with an inner tank to block it. The filling is not easy to be too full to prevent the paste from entering between the inner tank and the acrylic bottle to avoid cracks. The packaging has high requirement on outer packing during transportation, because it will look particularly obvious if it is scratched. Although it has high permeability, and the sensory upper wall is extraordinarily thick, the cost is quite expensive.
